Kaitaia - Kaitaia Museum

Author: Kaitaia Museum     Publisher: Northlander

The Far North Regional Museum holds a unique collection of artifacts that reflect the historical significance of the area.

Curator Des says their purpose is to speak for the diverse people of the very far North, "showing who we are via the stories and events that shaped us".

The museum has a wonderful treasure store of objects, documents and early photos, including a strong Maori collection and in recent times has developed a textiles collection of garments through the eras.

The museum also has an archive service, that can be accessed by contacting the museum.
