Opua - Bay of Island's hub of marine industry

Author: Blue Orb     Publisher: Northlander

Originally a commercial wharf for dairy and other products, Opua is now a busy clearing port for overseas shipping visitors.

Opua is the ideal location with its deep port, and has now become a hub of marine industry to support the growing number of boats that use the port as their gateway to New Zealand.

Opua also attracts traffic using the vehicle ferry to cross to Russell.
