Editorial Policies and Guidelines
This is a guide to explain guidelines for content on the website, to make sure the stories that are added can be enjoyed by all.
These are the standard policies applying to all content on this website (updated September 2008).
We invite stories and content on the website from all people. We aim to have diverse content reflecting the many cultures in Northland, New Zealand. Material in Te Reo Maori, and other languages can be published here.
The focus of the website is:
- Promotion of the rich social and cultural history of Northland places, and the significance of these places to the people of Northland, and others;
- Factual and experiential material which has national significance, including history, stories from individuals;
- Opportunities open to any participants and relevant to a wide audience.
All material submitted must be from registered users.
We do not accept:
- material which breaches the Human Rights Act (e.g. racist or sexist content);
- adult or offensive content;
- statements that are libellous, slanderous, defamatory or otherwise damage an individual's or organisation's reputation;
- exploitative or overtly commercially content;
- party political promotion;
- material which infringes copyright.
